PreTested is technical interview software for recruiters and hiring teams. It helps a recruiter lead the first technical round with a live AI assistant, then gives the hiring manager a scored report with evidence from the candidate’s answers. The aim is to make technical screening easier to run and easier to review without requiring an engineer to attend every initial interview. The workflow starts with a job description. PreTested drafts an interview with questions, follow-ups and scoring criteria for the technologies in the role. Recruiters can review and edit the script before speaking to a candidate. They can choose a 30-minute or 60-minute interview and set the weighting of the technologies being assessed. This gives the team a written rubric to use across interviews. During the call, the recruiter remains the person leading the conversation. The live AI assistant follows what is being said, displays the question to ask and tracks which expected points the candidate has covered. It does not speak to the candidate. The recruiter decides when to ask a follow-up, move to the next question or spend more time on an answer. Interviews take place in a browser-based video room. The candidate joins through a private link and does not need to create an account or install an application. A camera is optional. Interview invitations can be sent using Google Calendar or Microsoft calendars, with an email and calendar-file option available when those integrations are not used. Recording uses candidate consent. After the interview, PreTested produces a transcript and scores each answer against the interview rubric. Explanations include quotations and timestamps so a hiring manager can check the evidence behind an assessment. The scoring uses the candidate’s responses. Recruiters can review and adjust scores, add notes and export a PDF report for the hiring team. Typical uses include screening backend engineering candidates, preparing structured interviews for new job descriptions and giving several recruiters a consistent approach to technical assessment. A hiring manager can review the report and decide which topics need further investigation in a later interview. The report supports that review by keeping the question, score, explanation and supporting answer together.
