I spent 12+ years as a K-12 teacher before becoming a software engineer: physics, engineering, computer science, and eventually technical interview prep. The thing that's stayed constant across every room I've walked into: I make hard things make sense. That teaching background led to a specific obsession: most interview panels walk away with different impressions of the same candidate, not because they disagree, but because nobody defined what "good" looks like before they started evaluating. I've seen this from both sides of the table: as an interviewer, and very recently as a candidate living through my own search. So I built two things. interviewrubric.com turns job descriptions into structured interview rubrics, generates JDs from rough ideas, and preps candidates with likely questions — currently in open beta. I'm also an engineering manager and a musician — bass/baritone with a 75-person choir, several of whom performed on America's Got Talent this summer. What drives me right now: I know exactly what it feels like to prepare hard, show up, and still hear no. Building tools and coaching people through that same process is how I'm turning a hard season into something useful for someone else.
