SeatSwap is a peer-to-peer ticket marketplace built on Base that helps buyers and sellers transact safely without having to trust one another.
The platform was designed to solve the "who goes first?" problem that exists in ticket resale. Buyers don't want to send money to strangers and hope tickets arrive, while sellers don't want to transfer tickets and hope they get paid. To avoid high marketplace fees, many users turn to places like Reddit, Facebook Marketplace, Discord, and other informal channels where scams and fraud are common.
SeatSwap solves this problem using smart contract escrow. A buyer's payment is secured until the tickets are delivered, while both buyers and sellers post refundable security deposits that create incentives for honest behavior. If either party attempts to scam, lie, or fails to fulfill their obligations, their deposit can be forfeited.
Built specifically for crypto users, SeatSwap runs on Base and uses USDC for payments. Sellers pay just 2.99% in fees, significantly less than many traditional ticket marketplaces.
The platform is currently live on both testnet and mainnet and has undergone extensive testing of its escrow, dispute resolution, refund, and ticket transfer workflows as it prepares to onboard more live users.
