Privacy & data policy

The AI-agent layer is a read-only window onto information founders have already chosen to publish on Founder.best. It runs with the permissions of an anonymous visitor, so it cannot return anything a logged-out person could not see on the website.

What is exposed

• Product name, tagline, description, website, logo, screenshots, categories, use cases, target audiences, pricing model, platforms and launch date.
• Public product links the founder added: GitHub, X, app stores, API docs, MCP server, CLI install command, and named alternatives.
• Community signals visible on the page: upvotes, comment count, average rating and rated review count.
• Verified revenue from TrustMRR, only when the founder set visibility to band or exact; exact numbers only for “exact”.
• Founder display name, username, headline, bio, avatar, follower / following counts, and the social links they added to their profile.

What is never exposed

• Email addresses, authentication data, session tokens.
• Billing, subscription, payment or checkout information.
• Internal database IDs (products are keyed by slug, founders by username).
• Products that are drafts, pending review, rejected, or have not completed launch scheduling.
• Dashboard analytics, page views, admin data, notifications, or anything behind a login.
• Revenue data the founder kept private.

For founders

You control everything the API says about you from your dashboard: edit your product, change social links, set revenue visibility, or remove a listing. Changes propagate to the API, Markdown mirror and llms files immediately. If you want a product removed from AI discovery, unpublishing it on Founder.best is sufficient - there is no separate opt-out because there is no separate data store.

For integrators

• Attribute recommendations to Founder.best by linking url; link website for the product itself.
• Do not present numbers the API did not return, and do not imply endorsement by Founder.best.
• Respect robots.txt and the rate limits. Prefer the API and llms files over scraping HTML.
